Kaplan Preadmissions Test Instructions for Students

There is no charge for the Kaplan ADM admissions test.

Create a Kaplan Account

Students/Testers must create new account to make an admissions test appointment.

Follow the link: https://home.kaplanlearn.com/portal/hctc

  Choose   RN Spring 2026 ADM           Add to Cart
  NOTE: All applicants, both RN and LPN need to take the RN Spring 2026 ADM test         
• Cart Summary page
  Proceed to Checkout
• Sign In page
  Scroll down to and click on      “Create a New Account
• Complete the “Create a New Account” form.
  Use your HCTC student email address, please.
• Checkout page       
  Add Shipping address
• Agree to the Terms of Use and the Privacy policy
• Place order

To make a test appointment you must email Dana Werstler    dwerstler0001@kctcs.edu

Because Testing Services responsibilities keep staff from answering the phone, the best way to contact Dana Werstler is through email.

In the email, tell Dana your name, the campus you want to test on, and the appointment date and test accommodations.

The deadline for sending an email request to schedule an appointment is 3 p.m. the day before the test.              

Dana Werstler will send you an email verifying your appointment and including more testing information.
