Kentucky Family Leadership Academy

The Kentucky Family Leadership Academy (KFLA) offers a comprehensive 15-hour training program aimed at equipping potential Family Peer Support Specialists and Youth Peer Support Specialists with essential skills. Endorsed by the Kentucky Department for Behavioral Health, Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities, this training serves as a prerequisite for specialist certification. The curriculum encompasses six core competencies: leadership roles, communication skills, decision-making skills, conflict resolution, effective advocacy, and collaboration and partnership. The course, taught virtually over a two-day period during a single weekend, emphasizes interactive instruction, facilitated by certified trainers with lived experience, to ensure practical, real-world application of these foundational competencies.

The cost of the class is $150
