No, Hazard Community & Technical is one of 16 colleges in the Kentucky Community & Technical College System. The bachelor's degrees and other advanced degrees and certifications are offered by four-year partner colleges and universities that may be using space on the HCTC Hazard campus.

Presently the partner colleges and universities are Eastern Kentucky University, Kentucky State University, Lindsey Wilson College, Midway University, Morehead State University, Northern Kentucky University, Sullivan University College of Pharmacy, University of the Cumberlands, & UK Center of Excellence in Rural Health,

Some of the bachelor’s degree programs currently featured through the UCM include: criminal justice, human services & counseling, social work, education, nursing, imaging sciences/CTMR track, medical laboratory science, business & computer information technology. In addition the UCM features many graduate programs such as counseling, social work, education & nursing; as well as doctoral programs like physical therapy & pharmacy.

Classes may be taught in-person by the partner instructors on HCTC / other local campuses, in-person distance learning classes utilizing technology for students to join a classroom locally that is being taught live at a partner school’s campus, completely online classes being offered by a partner college/university, or some hybrid combination of an online & live, in-person component.

Tuition rates are determined by each partner college & university.

Yes, because students won’t have to pay for room and board nor parking passes, this can be a substantial savings for students.

Yes, UCM and partnering college & university staff are available to assist with admission, financial aid, advising and registration, which often includes team advising between HCTC/UCM and partner college/university advisors.

Absolutely! You will be able to apply for admission and will be connected to a college/university transfer advisor once those have been determined.

The UCM is located on HCTC’s Hazard campus just off South HWY 15 at 1 Community College Drive in the First Federal Center’s 119 office complex.
