Three candidates announced for HCTC presidency

Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) President Jay Box announced today the names of three candidates to be interviewed for the position of president/CEO of Hazard Community and Technical College (HCTC).

The finalists are:

Dr. Rick Mason
Vice President and Chief Learning Officer
Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College

Dr. Jennifer Lindon
Occupational Technologies/Workforce Solutions Dean and Chief Campus Administrator
Hazard Community amp; Technical College
Hazard, Kentucky

Dr. Amy Sue DeSonia
Vice President for Academic Affairs and provost
Virginia Community College System
New River Community and Technical College
Beaver, West Virginia

The candidates are scheduled for on-campus visits and interviews April 13-14. During those visits candidates will meet with HCTC faculty, staff, students, the board of directors and local leaders. The public also will have an opportunity to meet the candidates at the following forums:

Wednesday, April 13
Dr. Rick Mason
7:30 8:30 a.m. Community forum
10 11 a.m. student/faculty/staff forum

Dr. Jennifer Lindon
8:45 9:45 a.m. Community forum
11:15 a.m. 12:15 p.m. student/faculty/staff forum

Thursday, April 14
Dr. Amy DeSonia
7:30 8:30 a.m. Community forum
10 11 a.m. student/faculty/staff forum

All forums will be held in the HCTC Jolly Classroom Center Room 208

The new president/CEO of HCTC will begin the appointment June 1, 2016
