Surgical Tech program receives continuing accreditation

surgical technologyThe Surgical Technology at Hazard Community and Technical College has been awarded continuing accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). The recent peer review conducted by the Accreditation Review Council on Education in Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (ARC/STSA) and CAAHEP s Board of Directors recognizes the program's substantial compliance with the nationally established accreditation Standards.

The ARC/STSA will regularly monitor the program s compliance with the outcomes assessment thresholds through the program s Annual Report as well as other documentation that may be requested.

HCTC President Dr. Steve Greiner applauded Joanna Martin, Surgical Technology Coordinator, for her leadership in the program.

Anyone interested in learning more about the Surgical Technology program is invited to any of the three upcoming pre-admission conferences:

Thursday February 6, at noon, Lees College Campus of HCTC Library Science Bldg. Room 102; Thursday February 20, at 1:00 pm Bailey Stumbo Building; Second Floor Room 208 or Monday March 3, 11 a.m., Bailey Stumbo Building, Third Floor Room 329.
