Surgical Tech program receives continuing accreditation
The Surgical Technology at Hazard Community and Technical College has been awarded
continuing accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education
Programs (CAAHEP). The recent peer review conducted by the Accreditation Review Council
on Education in Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (ARC/STSA) and CAAHEP s
Board of Directors recognizes the program's substantial compliance with the nationally
established accreditation Standards.
The ARC/STSA will regularly monitor the program s compliance with the outcomes assessment
thresholds through the program s Annual Report as well as other documentation that
may be requested.
HCTC President Dr. Steve Greiner applauded Joanna Martin, Surgical Technology Coordinator,
