HCTC success story: Nathan Calhoun
“My education at Hazard Community and Technical College is the most important thing in the world to me because it’s made me who I am today.” Nathan Calhoun stated those words upon reflection of his career as a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit at Hazard ARH.
Calhoun graduated from HCTC in 2016 with an associate degree in nursing. He chose HCTC because it was close to home and affordable. He appreciates the faculty for their help because he was part of the class that attained the 100 percent pass rate on the national nursing exam, the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN). “I am very proud to be a part of this class. My fellow students and I worked tirelessly toward passing the boards, and our work paid off.
“I attribute my success to my nursing instructors believing in me, and to my work ethic,” noted the Hindman resident. “I’m appreciative to everyone at HCTC who helped me throughout my college career.”
