Nursing students from the Lees College Campus of Hazard Community and Technical College
participated in Breathitt County s Pumpkin Day. Students manned the first aid tent
for the entire day. Shown here are students Crystal Sewell, Noelle Kehler, Sara Pennington,
Nikki Day, and Chris Jackson. Pumpkin Day is coordinated by the UK Extension Office
for young children who attend Breathitt County School Systems as well as Lee, Wolfe,
Owsley, Leslie, and Floyd counties. A total of 1,030 students attended the event.
The children left the event with pumpkins in hand after a fun-filled day of hayrides
and coordinated activities. We are very proud of our nursing students as they represented
HCTC extremely well, noted HCTC faculty member Arzella Howard.
