A significant change has been made in the way services are provided to help students stay in college and be successful, whether that means they want to graduate from HCTC or transfer to a four-year university.

The new Student Resource Center brings together many services in a common location on the Hazard Campus for students. Services include career exploration, disability assistance, diversity services, Ready to Work program, Student Support Services, proctored and other testing, and tutoring, as well as advising for students who have not declared a major and/or are first-time students.

The new Center is located on the Hazard Campus in the First Federal Center, in Room 207.

This change involved moving the ARC and Ready to Work program out of the Jolly Classroom Center.

This change was made to provide a comprehensive, holistic set of services that students can access easily in one place, noted Germaine Shaffer, Dean of Students Services.

This move also enables the different offices to work closely together.

In short, if a student has any questions, they should go to Room 207 of the First Federal Center.
