Student awards presented at HCTC Commencement

honor awardsOutstanding students of Hazard Community and Technical College were honored Saturday, May 7 during graduation at the John C. Combs Arena of Perry County Central High School. The President s Award was presented to Christopher Michael Sanders of Russell Springs and Sherianne N. Robinson of Jackson.

Academic award for 2015-2016 were presented to those who had a perfect 4.0 grade point average. They are: For Associate in Science, Holly Lynn Feltner of Hazard and Solomon Edward Fugate of Jackson.

For the Associate in Applied Science, the honorees are: Scott Jonathan Kelley of London General Occupational/Technical Studies (with Diploma in Computer Aided Drafting amp; Design); Savana McIntosh of Chavies Diagnostic Medical Sonography; Makayla Richelle Morgan of Essie Physical Therapist Assistant; Christopher Micheal Sanders of Russell Springs General Occupational/Technical Studies (with Diploma in Heavy Equipment Operation/Operating Engineer); Jon Setzer of Lexington General Occupational/Technical Studies; Donald Edward Swisher of Whitesburg General Occupational/Technical Studies (with Diploma in Electrical Technology); Jennifer O. Thompson of JB Andrews Base Computer and Information Technologies; and Melissa Sue Wright of Pikeville Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education.

Earning a diploma and having a perfect 4.0 is Ellora June Franklin of Emmalena Cosmetology.

Thompson of JB Andrews Base Computer amp; Information Technologies; Shawna Michelle Bates of Topmost Cosmetology; Blake Alexander Jackson of London Criminal Justice; Donald Edward Swisher of Whitesburg General Occupational/Technical Studies (Electrical Technology); Donna L. Roca of Lexington Health Information Technology; Lily Revena Maggard of Hazard Human Services; Melissa Sue Wright of Pikeville Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education; Kaylee Hannah Campbell of Booneville Medical Information Technology; Sydney Blair Back of Blackey Nursing; Makayla Richelle Morgan of Essie Physical Therapist Assistant; Wesley Gordon Wilder of Clinton, TN Professional Studio Artist: Bluegrass amp; Traditional Music; Shawn Douglas Porter of Allen Radiography; and Dan Ryan Cody of Hazard Surgical Technology.

HCTC Interim President Dr. Juston Pate and Dr. R. Kathy Smoot, Provost and Vice President of Academic Services, congratulate a total of 515 students who received a total of 1,411 credentials.
