Kimberly Cunagin honored by HCTC with Outstanding Staff Award
Hazard Community and Technical College recently recognized Kimberly Cunagin with the New Horizons Outstanding Staff award, and she will be honored at a statewide conference later this month hosted by the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS). Cunagin is the Administrative Assistant with HCTC s Learn on Demand program. She began at HCTC in August 2010.
Dr. R. Kathy Smoot, Provost and Vice President of Academic Services, noted, In a relatively short period of time, Kimberly has become an integral member of our Distance Learning Team at HCTC. As such, she provides key support functions to the unit on a daily basis and has contributed significantly to innovative quality improvements allowing us to further advance and expand our online learning opportunities for students.
Cunagin noted, I really enjoy my job and value my employment with HCTC. I have great respect for the hard work done by my colleagues and I feel privileged to work with and for such a great group of people. I like being a part of a college that truly makes a difference in the lives of so many people in our community. I have learned a lot from my years at HCTC and that knowledge has helped me grow professionally. Thank you to HCTC for recognizing me with this significant honor; it means a great deal to me.
Cunagin has an associate s degree in Arts from HCTC and a bachelor s degree from EKU in General Studies. She also has certificates from KCTCS colleges in General Business, Organizational Leadership, and Operations Management.
Prior to moving to the region in 2008, Cunagin lived and worked in Nashville, TN (Brentwood) for SoftPlan Systems, an architectural design software company. Before that she worked in the accounting department at the Fort Campbell Federal Credit Union in Clarksville, TN.
Kimberly and her husband, Brad, live in Chavies with their son, Gabe.
