Keila Miller named HCTC New Horizon winner
Hazard Community and Technical College and the Kentucky Community and Technical College System honor Keila Miller with the Outstanding Administrative Staff Award for her leadership as Workforce Liaison and the Knott County Chief Campus Administrator. She was honored at a statewide conference this week.
Miller receives high praise from businesses she assists, covering everything from training needs, initial start-up projects, and implementation of business plans. She has been in that role since 2008. Prior to that she was the Appalachian Artisan Center Camp Coordinator, Eastern Kentucky Concentrated Employment Program Certified Trainer, and American Woodmark Corporation Human Resources Manager. Her resume includes working for HCTC as the Community and Economic Development Coordinator.
Dr. Jennifer Lindon, Dean of Occupational Technologies and Workforce Solutions, said Mrs. Miller was so deserving of recognition because of her can do attitude and her many skills and strengths. She can teach many different computer classes, provide expertise to start-up businesses, and coordinate numerous projects with ease, Dr. Lindon said.
Mrs. Miller is a Hazard-Perry County Chamber of Commerce board member and Hazard C.H.I.C.K.S. She is a former member of the EXCEP Workforce Investment Board.
She and her husband, Mike, live in Knott County with daughter Natalie.
