High school juniors in the region will learn more about Hazard Community and Technical College programs during the annual Rotary Day on Friday, November 9 in HCTC s First Federal Center. Faculty members and program coordinators will talk to students about career options. The juniors will attend from: Buckhorn, Hazard, Cordia Jackson Independent, Knott County, and Leslie County schools.

HCTC President Dr. Steve Greiner said high school seniors are invited to campus for a number of different times but he especially appreciates Rotary Day because it is geared toward high school juniors. We want students to be thinking early of their career options. We have a large number of programs to offer and Rotary Day is an ideal way for high school juniors to see what interests them most.

Hazard Rotary Club members will tell students of the organization s motto Service Above Self and encourage the young people to make a contribution to their communities. Hazard Rotary Club President Dr. Ella Strong said she hopes the students take advantage of the day s great learning experience by talking with different faculty members about careers.
