Homecoming event planned at Lees
If you haven t already done so, please mark your calendars now for the Lees Homecoming Celebration to be held on October 25 and 26 in Jackson. The events on these two days will provide a wonderful chance for former students, employees, and community supporters to get together for food, fellowship, and a chance to reminisce about college days. The two-day event will be held at the Lees College Campus of Hazard Community and Technical College. On Friday evening, beginning at 6 p.m., Lees will be honoring all former athletes and having a red/white game followed by a meal in the old cafeteria. Saturday will feature a variety of events beginning at 10 a.m. including historical displays, campus tours (including the newly renovated Telford Technology Center), entertainment by HCTC s KSBTM (Kentucky School of Bluegrass and Traditional Music), the Lees MarketPlace (featuring popular Lees College items), a formal homecoming program with picnic lunch, and lots of time for storytelling/sharing/visiting with both old and new friends!
As a part of this celebration, Place of Hope, Place of Progress: An Illustrated History of Lees College, 1883-1996 authored by Dr. Rich Holl, Stephen Bowling and Cathy Branson will be unveiled and signed copies will be available. Advance orders of the book will be accepted from July 1 through September 30 at the presale price of $19.95; beginning October 1st books will be offered at the regular price of $24.95.
