HCTCs Marcy Brock Moore named to KCTCS leadership group
HCTC s Marcy Brock Moore is honored as one of the 19 faculty and staff members selected from throughout the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) in President Michael B. McCall s tenth annual President's Leadership Seminar (PLS) .
The expansive, educational and inspirational programs we have organized will provide great guidance to our chosen faculty and staff as they continue building careers of excellence, said Dr. McCall. This seminar not only encourages our participants, it helps strengthen and advance KCTCS, so we can continue Transforming Lives. Transforming Kentucky.
Mrs. Moore was nominated by HCTC President Dr. Allen Goben because of her leadership skills. It was a pleasure to recommend Marcy because she's such a talented and sincere faculty member who is already leading positive progress to benefit students, faculty, staff, and administrators. She understands the value of good teamwork, and further leadership training will enhance her abilities while also boosting her confidence.
After attending the leadership seminar in early October, she noted, This has already been a life changing experience, and I look forward to the continuous sessions throughout this year. We had three days filled with high intense quality training from national speakers as they shared their own personal stories, proving once again that life s experiences can become driving forces to the road to success. It is all about the choices we make with the circumstances we are given. I am deeply appreciative for this opportunity, and most honored, Mrs. Moore said.
Marcella Brock Moore is an Associate Professor of Communications at Hazard Community and Technical College. Marcella holds a master s degree from Morehead State University and has been teaching communications since 1997. Brock Moore is a graduate of both the technical and the community college in Hazard. Those experiences provided the foundation for all the opportunities I experience in life today and for that, I am always most thankful, she said.
The KCTCS seminar promotes and strengthens leadership traits among KCTCS faculty and staff in an effort to advance the System s 16 community and technical colleges, as well as each participant s personal and professional goals. This unique professional development experience explores such broad-ranging issues as leadership traits, national issues and trends, professionalism, media relations and customer service.
