HCTCs Brock-Moore learns from John Maxwell
HCTC Professor Marcy Brock-Moore said she has had a turning point in her life. She is thankful for her intense training with the John Maxwell Certification Program and she plans to share that training with her communication classes.
The training recently in West Palm Beach, Florida had 500 students from 43 countries participating to learn from John Maxwell-- a world renowned leadership expert, speaker, and author.
As the result of her professional development, she received certification in the areas of Becoming a Person of Influence, Everyone Communicates, Few Connect; How to be a REAL Success; Leadership Gold; and Put Your Dreams to the Test.
Our teachers included John Maxwell and his teaching faculty -- a faculty made up of well-known and sought out international speakers, teachers and coaches. This opportunity is equal to achieving another degree, and the possibilities are endless as each student can use these skills to help find their own gift within and pursue their own dream, she said.
Professor Moore heard Dr. Maxwell teach on the topic of Culture and he emphasized that the culture of an organization is the reason for its ability to thrive. He shared and strongly emphasized with us that the culture of the Maxwell Program is servant hood and the purpose of adding value to the lives of others. The session on coaching took us straight into the realization that we must allow the student to learn to think for themselves, she said.
We were once again made to realize that life is filled with different seasons and the importance of making each season all we can, whether it is our years as a young mother or our years of reaching to make a difference in the lives of others, she noted.
Many times I share with my students that one of my greatest fears is that we die
with our dream still left inside. I do not believe that is the true plan for our life
so I share with my students, Stephen Covey s words, Dare to become the change YOU
seek in the world.
