HCTC Workforce Solutions helps businesses
Workforce Solutions is helping small businesses thrive. The office, based at the Technical
Campus of Hazard Community and Technical College, offers multiple services to businesses
and those who have utilized their services sing their praises.
Joey Stidham runs his own private business, Stidham Reconstruction and Investigation. Workforce Solutions has helped my business in many areas. They have helped me with skills and that has made my job easier. They provided assistance with choosing employees and creation of a handbook for my company. But perhaps most importantly I have utilized them to train my employees; that gives me the confidence when I hire a new employee to give them tasks and know they can competently do those tasks, Stidham said.
Shane Hall of Shane Hall Attorney at Law, PLLC called on HCTC's Workforce Solutions
program for help with issues related to the growth of his small business. Keila Miller
came to Pikeville and met with me and my staffs individually to assess what immediate
challenges were hindering my firm, and what solutions were available to allow the
growth that I desired. Keila was able to assess the staffing needs of my firm, as
well as provide invaluable feedback from her conversations with employees which has
allowed me to see things from an entirely different perspective, Hall said.
I am happy to say that after implementing some of the feedback from Keila, I have rectified the previous staffing challenges, upgraded my business model, and the product which we are providing clients is something of which I am very proud and is second to none! The HCTC's Workforce Solutions program was an invaluable tool for me, as a small business owner, and I would recommend the program with the highest regard, noted Hall.
Dr. Jennifer Lindon, Dean of Workforce Solutions, noted that helping small businesses helps the overall economy and she is pleased that her office can provide that assistance to the community.
