HCTC success story: Daniel Miller

Daniel Miller always had an interest in working on vehicles and he s thankful for his Automotive Technology training from Hazard Community and Technical College because that helped him get hired at Tim Short Ford as a Service Technician.

Miller earned a diploma in May 2012 and earned his Associate in Applied Science degree this month.
I really enjoyed the program and the people I attended it with. Ralph Kidd was a great instructor. He was always there to help. I learned a lot throughout the two years I attended, Miller said, noting, The faculty was always there to answer the questions I had. They were very helpful.

I would recommend HCTC to others. After losing my job and being unemployed, I realized it's very important to get an education. You can get a quality education being close to home at an affordable price.

Students enrolled in the program learn about engines, fuel, on-board computers, transmissions, steering, suspension, and brakes. Program Coordinator Ralph Kidd noted students get experience in troubleshooting, performing preventative maintenance, servicing and repairing automobiles in his program. We expect jobs in this area to continue to grow. Those with an education will be the most sought after by employers.

Miller and his wife, Misti Miller, live in Rowdy with their 2-year-old son Brayden.
