HCTC Student Chosen to Serve on KCTCS Board

Tiffany QuilanTiffany Quinlan of Hazard Community and Technical College (HCTC) and Ebenezer Yankey of Henderson Community College (HCC) will serve one-year terms on the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) Board of Regents. The two were selected by 15 college student body presidents as KCTCS student body co-presidents and student regents. Their terms run from August 2014 through August 2015.

Quinlan lives in Hazard and is pursuing an associate degree at HCTC. She was elected the 2014-15 HCTC Student Government Association (SGA) president. Her other activities include the Campus Environment Team, Diversity Gay/Straight Alliance, Phi Theta Kappa, Fellowship (Christian student organization) and the Community Ministries Board. She plans to pursue a bachelor's degree in secondary education with an English major.

Yankey lives in Morganfield and is pursuing an associate degree at HCC. He was elected the 2014-15 SGA president at HCC. His other activities include the Multi-Cultural Alliance, the Academic Team and Job Corps. After receiving a degree from HCC, Yankey plans to transfer to a four-year institution to complete a bachelor's degree, and later attend medical school to study neurosurgery.
