HCTC Presidential candidates to visit Nov. 14 and 15

Versailles, KY (November 11, 2010) The Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) announces three finalists for the position of president at Hazard Community and Technical College (HCTC). The three finalists will visit the Hazard community on November 14, and the HCTC campus for public forums on November 15.

The three finalists are Dr. Stephen Greiner, currently the president of Brunswick Community College Institution, North Carolina; Dr. Joseph Olson, currently the vice president for military, community and economic development for Copper Mountain College, California; and Dr. Donald Tomas, currently the vice president of Instruction for Weatherford College, Texas.

Members of the community interested in meeting the candidates are invited to attend the public forums that will be held in the First Federal Center in Room 123 Damp;E at HCTC on November 15. Times are as follows:

9:10 a.m.--Dr. Stephen Greiner
10:10 a.m.--Dr. Joseph Olson
11:10 a.m.--Dr. Donald Tomas

"A thorough and inclusive search process has resulted in these three outstanding candidates. It is an honor to KCTCS to have such extremely qualified individuals interested in becoming the next president of Hazard Community and Technical College," said KCTCS President Michael B. McCall.

The HCTC presidential search process formally began in August and consisted of an extensive national search, selection and interviews with a pool of outstanding candidates. Following the campus visits, the HCTC Board of Directors will make a recommendation to Dr. McCall. A formal announcement of the new president is expected sometime in the next few weeks.
