HCTC offers new Computed Tomography certificate

HCTC will offer a new Computed Tomography certificate that is totally on-line in the spring 2011 semester.

Homer Terry, Radiography Program Coordinator, noted, Radiographers in the region are fortunate to have access to this program that makes them even more marketable in the job market. The four classes will be taught by Tim Whittaker who does a wonderful job in teaching.

Terry said that Didactic instruction prepares the technologist to work in the area of Computed Tomography in the healthcare setting and to sit for the Advanced Board Exams given by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. These courses are offered for technologists who are currently registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist in Radiography and by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board in Nuclear Medicine. The class is also open to those who have completed one year in the radiography program.

The courses will qualify for 48 hours of ARRT Continuing Education Units (CEU) for students earning a course grade of C or greater.

Students can take the classes in any order they desire.
