HCTC offers Enhanced Nurse Aide/Direct Support Worker Certificate Program
HCTC will be conducting orientation and registration for the Enhanced Nurse Aide/Direct Support Worker Certificate program for the fall semester.
Orientation will be held in Hazard on Monday, March 26 at 10 a.m. at the Technical Campus in the Walter Prater Building, room 123 and in Jackson on Wednesday, March 28, 10 a.m. at the Lees College Campus in the Library Science Building, room 102.
The HCTC Enhanced Nurse Aide/Direct Support Worker Certificate program is a 15-credit hour program that will help better equip students with the necessary interpersonal, soft and technical skills to work in nursing home and private home health care facilities and will provide a career pathway entry point so the student may elect to pursue an advanced degree in Human Services/Social Work or the Nursing Profession. Students can complete the two certificate program in one semester.
The advantages of pursuing a career in the Enhanced Nurse Aide/Direct Support Worker Certificate Program include: enhanced communication skills, dual certificates when program is complete, program can be completed in 16 weeks, scholarships available, increase demand for workers in this field, opportunities for advancement, and a variety of employment settings available.
