HCTC honors Danny Maggard with Education Leader Award

Hazard Community and Technical College honored Danny Maggard with the Outstanding Educational Leader Award for his outstanding educational leadership that has made a notable contribution to HCTC. Through his hard work and dedication to the educational needs of students in Eastern Kentucky, he has been instrumental in securing funding for an endowment which provides several much needed annual scholarships for the students at HCTC. Appreciation for his commitment to education was expressed by student Chelsea Rouse who shared comments from students who have benefited from these scholarships. Maggard was recognized on April 30 during the Hazard Perry County Civic Night.

HCTC President Dr. Steve Greiner said Maggard s leadership at the College was greatly appreciated. Danny Maggard cares very deeply about this College and is very dedicated to seeing students succeed. He understands the vital need for scholarships. His work extends to other areas that are important, including his membership in the Hazard Independent College Foundation and the Greater Hazard Area Performing Arts Series.

Maggard has promoted the value of education and the arts as essential elements to improve the quality of life for citizens in this region. As a result of his many years of support to the College and community, he has enhanced the lives of others. Maggard is employed as Chief Engineer for Kentucky River Properties.

Rouse ended her comments from the students at HCTC by saying, From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for all that you do in our community to help us realize our dreams.
