HCTC hired Doug Niece for Construction Technology Program
Revitalizing the Construction Technology Program at Hazard Community and Technical College brings great opportunities for job creation and instructor Doug Niece is pleased he is chosen to head up the program.
Niece, who began Aug. 1, will begin teaching classes on Monday, Sept. 12 at the Technical Campus. His classes include Introduction to Construction, Light frame Construction, Surveying and Foundations, and Blueprint reading.
Niece brings 21 years of work experience to the job. He knew at an early age that construction was for him. While in high school, he enrolled in carpentry classes.
I believe that reviving the Construction Technology Program will be good for the community. The job prospects look good. The future for the construction technology students is limitless, he said.
Hands-on training will be offered. There is still time to enroll in the classes beginning Sept. 12.
HCTC President Dr. Jennifer Lindon said she appreciates Niece s enthusiasm and his
vision for the program. We are happy to have Doug Niece on the job. Our students
will benefit from his dedication and his plans for excellence in the program.
