HCTC and KCTCS honor Dr. and Mrs. Chandarana
Shown here, from left, are HCTC President Dr. Steve Greiner; Bhanu and Jyotin Chandarana,
and KCTCS President Dr. Jay Box.
Dr. and Mrs. Jyotin Chandarana have made major contributions to Hazard Community and
Technical College and that dedication to education prompted statewide recognition
by HCTC and the Kentucky Community and Technical College System.
The couple made their home in Hazard 21 years ago and have been very committed to their community since that time. Dr. Chandarana often expresses his love for Eastern Kentucky and his dedication to healthcare for Eastern Kentucky people. He is an advocate for the College and for education and is often seen talking to his colleagues and others about the importance of the College and the community. He and his wife play very active roles in the community. Dr. Chandarana has served on the HCTC Board of Directors since 2006. Recently the Chandaranas made a generous contribution to HCTC to support the needs of the allied health programs demonstrating their belief in giving back to the community they love.
HCTC President Dr. Steve Greiner said Jyotin and Bhanu are wonderful friends of the college. Jyotin is a committed board member who truly is invested into our community college. I appreciate this couple very much.
The couple was honored by KCTCS at an awards dinner Nov. 14 in Lexington.
