Hazard Community and Technical College will be utilizing a grant for $243,836 to improve,
upgrade and expand distance learning technology in five classrooms on five campuses,
in Hazard, Jackson, Hindman, and Hyden, thanks to the 2012 U.S.D.A. Distance Learning
and Telemedicine grant. One of the campuses will have interactive video conferencing
equipment for the first time; the other four will expand their current capacity.
HCTC President Dr. Steve Greiner said, distance learning is an integral part of teaching
and learning at HCTC. We are appreciative of the opportunity to enhance technology
for our students and faculty.
HCTC is one of only two community colleges in the nation and only one of two recipients
for the state of Kentucky.
