Frenchburg Job Corps students attending HCTC

Fanesha Brown knew the perfect gift for her Mom s birthday. She bought a shirt from HCTC as a reminder to her mom that her 24-year-old daughter is now enrolled in college. Me being a college student is the best birthday gift mom has ever received, Fanesha said of her mother, Lavetta Brown.

I love school. I intend to stay her for a while because I feel so comfortable here. I can get tutoring from anyone if I just ask, Fanesha said, adding the advice she would give to others, Don t give up. Keep going.

Chuck Washington is a Career Counselor with the Frenchburg Job Corps where he s worked for 29 years. He loves seeing students such as Fanesha who are very excited and motivated to enroll in college.

Enrolling at HCTC is just one option that Washington makes sure is available to students. He understands the importance of a college education, which is why he brought students Micah Andujo, Steven May, Sean Van Linda-Looney, and David Weaver to the campus to meet with Elbert Hagans, Director of Diversity, and tour the college. The job corps is located in Frenchburg, which is in Menifee County.

Others interested in enrolling at HCTC can call (606) 487-3102.
