Diversity suppliers meeting set for May 23

Diversity suppliersHCTC will be hosting an event for area diverse business owners to learn more about opportunities for doing business with the college on Wednesday, May 23 from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the First Federal Center, room 119P. The event is in support of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System s (KCTCS) Supplier Diversity Initiative.

HCTC President Dr. Steve Greiner noted, We are reaching out to vendors who want to do business with the college. We are seeking a broad range of business, from contractors to those who offer cleaning supplies.

The May 23 event will provide area business owners with the opportunity to easily learn about, and compete for, the goods and services that are needed at HCTC, as well as at other area colleges within the Kentucky Community and Technical College System.

Once a diverse business is registered with the Initiative they will be notified by phone and e-mail when a matching opportunity occurs. Newsletters and other communications will also keep them updated on future opportunities, Initiative related events, and more.

The overall objective of the Supplier Diversity Initiative is to ensure KCTCS meets the 2010-2016 Strategic Plan goals to reflect the diversity of the students and employees of our 16 colleges and the citizens of the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

The agenda includes an overview of how the Initiative works, a demonstration of the online registration process, and an open question and answer session. Refreshments will be served.
