Cast List announced for Little Theatre play

Director Terry Thies has announced the cast for Little Theatre of Hazard s presentation of The Great All American Musical Disaster by Tim Kelly and in association with Samuel French, Inc. Little Theatre has been growing over the last few years in the number of community members who have discovered a love of the stage. In order to satisfy the demand for roles, Thies has chosen a play that has 28 roles. Along with several new players, this show will spotlight the talents of seasoned actors as well.

The cast includes: Richard Counts as Junior Dover, Hollywood producer; Rebecca Fletcher as Ethel, his gal Friday; Rae Ann Barnett as Appassionata Abalone, leading lady from the past; Rowena Dawhare as Carmel, the put-upon screen writer; Joyce Scott of Whitesburg as Sylvia, Hollywood gossip columnist; Rakisha Pollard, who just returned from professionally performing on the Chicago stage, as Chuckles LaFoon, popular comedienne; Annie Pulsipher, new to the Hazard stage, though with plenty of acting experience, as GeeGee Fontaine, Hollywood s most glamorous actress; Jamie Burton, in his debut as Flint Wormwood; Roberta Epperson as Mrs. Bumble, stage mother to Baby Bumbles, played by Frances Everage.
We aren t worried about legal issues with this play due to having five lawyers in the cast, noted Thies. Besides Richard Counts and Rakisha Pollard, the cast also includes John Hansen as Bronco Whinny, cowboy star; Scott Blair as the good looking, leading man star, Bob Everlove; and Sam Collins as the TV Announcer. That all three of these attorneys are in the race for Circuit Judge adds a bit of fun as well, she said.

The cast continues with Hobie Dotson as Voltaire, the conceited but untalented director, Victoria Halcomb as Ginger, the receptionist; Lisa Garza as the assistant director; Jon Epperson as Theo Bartok, horror film star; Alexa Davidson as Sally, a young film student, along with Christin Campbell as Pauline, another film student; Jessica Holcomb plays Greta Gutt, top Hollywood agent; Latosha Lindon as Winifred, drama coach, Jill Robertson as the camera person, Bobbie Williams as the script person, and introducing Libby Peters as GeeGee s maid and a tourist guide. Cameo roles as tourists will be played by Tracy Counts and Caitlin Szabo.
Crew at this time includes Lisa Hill, in her recurring role as master stage manager, Misty Baker at sound, and Caitlyn Szabo, construction. We do have openings for crew positions and may even have a smaller role or two to cast as well, Thies said.

Performance dates are Feb. 28, March 1 and March 2. The show starts at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and closes with a matinee on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in the First Federal Center of Hazard Community and Technical College. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for seniors and students and may be purchased at the door
