An Alumni Moment: Beth Muncie-OHair

Beth O'hairThe Lees College Homecoming Celebration will be held on October 25 and 26, 2013 on the Lees College Campus of HCTC. The following is a celebration of a former Lees College student.

Beth Muncie-O Hair attended Lees College from 1989-1991. She was popular on campus and in the Jackson community. She was selected for the prestigious Who s Who Among America s Junior Colleges and her peers elected her Homecoming Queen in 1990. Beth also supported the Generals as a member of the cheerleading squad at Lees; she participated in many organizations on campus including the baseball team and the Campus Action Team. Beth was an excellent student at Lees College where she received the Presidential Leadership Award and the Stan Grizzle Memorial Scholarship.

Beth started working for the state of Kentucky as a Family Support Specialist in July 1997. She is currently a supervisor with the Cabinet for Families and Children. She is very active in her church and she serves on several local boards. Beth is an athletic booster for soccer and football, and she has served in many other volunteer capacities in her hometown of Irvine, Kentucky, including serving as volunteer firefighter.

Beth considers her greatest achievement to be her children. Kelsey, Taylor, Scarlett, and Jon Andrew keep her busy and involved at home and in the local school system. Beth said she has incredible memories of her times at Lees College. I loved the students and my professors, the recreation room, my classes, the dormitories, and the opportunity to support the best basketball team ever at Lees College.

Beth Muncie-O Hair is successful as a parent, community leader, and public advocate. She believes Lees College provided her the skills she needed to succeed in life. Beth looks forward to returning to the Lees College Campus for the Lees Homecoming Celebration on October 25th and 26th and hopes she ll have the opportunity to visit with lots of her former friends, classmates, and professors.
