Academic Resources for Students

HCTC s dedication to transforming students lives extends outside the classroom. We provide a variety of resources designed to assist you in achieving your educational goals.

Tutoring Services

Student Support Services

Student Support Services, Student Support Services, a federally funded grant program for first generation and/or low-income students and/or students with disabilities, is located in room 107 Jolly Classroom Center, on the Hazard campus. SSS assists students with advising, career and transfer counseling, one-on-one tutoring, cultural enrichment opportunities, and an array of other services. Disabilities Services

Disabilities Services provides services to students with documented disabilities. Students should contact Julie Caudill at (606) 487-3486. All Disabilities Services accommodations are coordinated through this office.

Ready to Work Program

HCTC s Ready to Work (RTW) program is a partnership between KCTCS and the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services, Department for Community Based Services. The Ready to Work program is designed for college students who participate in Kentucky Transitional Assistance Program (K-TAP).

The Ready to Work program assists students in meeting K-TAP participation hours through the work study and educational components of the program as well as providing career counseling, peer mentoring, life skills, success seminars, and access to available community resources.

Accelerating Oppoertunities

Accelerating Opportunity - The Accelerating Opportunity initiative is a new approach to teaching by mixing career training with additional support for math, writing, and reading inside and outside the classroom. For more information on the Accelerating Opportunity Program contact Lucy Langdon at 487-3577.

HCTC Libraries

HCTC has two libraries, the Stephens Library and the Lees College Campus Library, along with a wide variety of online resources to support academic research. Library staff will assist you in using resources to locate information. Extended Campus Library Services serves the needs of the Leslie, Knott, and Technical Campuses as well as online students.
