Super Sunday is Feb. 28
Consolidated Baptist Church will serve as the host church on February 28 for the Super Sunday event as Hazard Community and Technical College employees host an information fair for prospective college students and their families. Rev. Lowell Parker, pastor at Consolidated welcomes everyone to church service beginning at 11 a.m. The Super Sunday Event will follow, with lunch served at 1:30.
Janice Hagans-Higgins, HCTC Coordinator of Mentoring and Outreach, said Super Sunday is a wonderful chance to learn about admissions, financial aid, programs offered, and other benefits of attending. Super Sunday is informal and provides an opportunity for folks to talk one-on-one about enrolling. Anyone who has questions about HCTC is invited to attend, she said.
HCTC Interim President Dr. Juston Pate expressed his appreciation to Consolidated Baptist Church for opening their doors to HCTC and to the public. We are fortunate to have Rev. Parker and his church as our partner in reaching out to the African American community. HCTC offers great value for those wanting a higher education and we want to help more people to enter our doors.
