Hazard Community and Technical College President Dr. Jennifer Lindon hosted University of Kentucky President Dr. Eli Capilouto Tuesday, Sept. 27, at HCTC’s Lees College Campus. The UK group toured the manufacturing and engineering lab and nursing classrooms in the E. O. Robinson Intergenerational Training Center to get a better idea of what HCTC has to offer students in anticipation of a proposed pathway for engineering students wanting to further their education after HCTC. Xometry (NASDAQ: XMTR), a global online marketplace connecting enterprise buyers with suppliers of manufacturing services, Kentucky Lt. Gov. Jacqueline Coleman and Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) President Dr. Paul Czarapata, along with Dr. Koffi Akakpo, the President of Bluegrass Community and Technical College (BCTC), recently announced an innovative public-private partnership in which Xometry will fund 50 scholarships for KCTCS students.

Breathitt Countian Lloyd Roberts sits in his antique barber chair in his newly opened salon, Studio 6, in Jackson, Ky, just months after graduating from the HCTC Cosmetology program.Looking at Jackson native Lloyd Roberts, one would be hard pressed to guess what he does for a living. The tall, broad-shouldered redhead sports a shaved head with a long biker-style beard--you might guess he works on motorcycles before you'd ever guess his actual profession. "I am a licensed cosmetologist," Roberts says with a smile, seated comfortably in his antique barber's chair in his newly opened Studio 6 salon in Jackson in Breathitt County. "And I wouldn't be where I am today without the education I received from HCTC (Hazard Community and Technical College)."

Hazard Community and Technical College (HCTC) and Appalachian Regional Healthcare (ARH) announced today, August 16, 2022, that a new scholarship provided through ARH for HCTC nursing students would be available for the Fall 2022 semester. HCTC Dean's List Spring 2022The following Hazard Community and Technical College students have been named to the Dean's List for the Spring 2022 semester. To be named to the Dean's List, a student must be listed as credential-seeking, must attain a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale, and must successfully complete at least 12-18 KCTCS semester credits of course work numbered 100 or above (excluding any courses considered developmental).
