HCTC Professor Tracy Bowling receives Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree

HCTC s Physical Therapist Assistant Program Coordinator Tracy Bowling has obtained a Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree through the University of Kentucky and now her students will benefit from her expanded education.

Dr. Bowling noted, By obtaining my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree, I was able to gain new and innovative teaching methods and ideas which can be incorporated into the PTA courses. I will be able to incorporate evidence-based teaching and current physical therapy information into my courses. This will give students an up-to-date perspective on the profession and help to improve student success in the program. It also provided me, as faculty and program coordinator of the PTA Regional Program, with the terminal degree within my field of expertise.

HCTC President Dr. Steve Greiner applauded Dr. Bowling s accomplishment. I m proud to see our faculty constantly working to improve their education because that brings even more excitement to the classroom. HCTC will benefit from Dr. Bowling s highest level of education for the rest of her career here.

Dr. Bowling stated, New and innovative ideas will be brought to the classroom which will have an immediate impact on the students within the program. These new and innovative teaching methods will be incorporated into the regular operations of the courses and produce long-term results for students. I will be able to incorporate evidence-based teaching and new physical therapy information into my courses which will enhance teaching within the classroom and improve student performance in the clinical facilities within the community. Students will have an up-to-date perspective on the profession.

Dr. Bowling earlier earned a Bachelor of Health Sciences degree from the University of Kentucky and a Master of Science degree in Industrial Education from Eastern Kentucky University.
