Primary Care Centers of Eastern Kentucky establishes HCTC scholarship in memory of Paige Hays

Oct 10, 2017

Primary Care Centers of Eastern Kentucky employees and the public were heartbroken when Paige Hays was suddenly killed in an accident during late summer. In an effort to honor this former PCCEK employee, a scholarship has been established at Hazard Community and Technical College. Paige was a 2017 graduate of HCTC.

The Paige Hays Memorial Scholarship is an endowed fund, which will provide one or more scholarships each year for those students who are pursuing phlebotomy certification. To qualify for the scholarship, the students should demonstrate financial need.

Barry Martin, Primary Care Centers of Eastern Kentucky CEO noted, “We valued Paige as an employee, and we wanted to honor her memory. Educating someone who follows in the path she had chosen seemed like the ideal way to bring something good out of this tragedy.”

HCTC President Dr. Jennifer Lindon expressed her great appreciation to Barry Martin and Primary Care Centers for choosing to create the scholarship. “This endowment will assist many future students, and HCTC is appreciative to see Paige remembered in this way.”

Anyone who would like to contribute to the scholarship fund in memory of Paige Hays may contact Carla Seals at Carla.Seals@kctcs.edu or (606) 487-3072.
