Student Support Services

Student Support Services, a federally funded grant program for first generation and/or low-income students and/or students with disabilities, is located in JCC 107 – Jolly Classroom Center, on the Hazard campus. Students MUST have academic need in addition to meeting one or more of the additional criteria.  SSS assists students with advising, career and transfer counseling, one-on-one tutoring, cultural enrichment opportunities, and an array of other services.

Student Support Services (SSS) is an academic performance, retention, graduation, and transfer program that serves two-hundred participants. SSS is a grant-funded program through the U.S. Department of Education, which offers academic advising, career/transfer counseling, personal support, tutoring, educational workshops, financial aid counseling, and social/economic enrichment activities.

The Hazard Community & Technical College Student Support Services Program is funded at $308,211 for five years, beginning with the 2015-16 grant cycle. One hundred percent (100%) of the program is financed with federal money and zero percent (0%) is financed by non-governmental sources. This program is funded to serve 200 students. This disclosure is made in compliance with Public Law 108-447 Sec. 506.
