The Grants Department of Hazard Community and Technical College creates and expands opportunities for new sources of funding which will enable the institution to further its mission of serving as a comprehensive, public community and technical college that empowers diverse learners, building self-confidence and leadership capacity for lifelong personal success and community enhancement.

It meets its mission through the following activities:

  • Assists faculty and staff in visualizing new projects and programs
  • Ensures that projects are realistic and build institutional capacity
  • Ensures proposed project personnel are committed to proposed project
  • Researches and identifies potential funding sources and relays information to faculty and staff
  • Facilitates the development of competitive proposals through research, proposal preparation and project team management
  • Submits proposals through the institutional approval process in accordance with deadlines and regulations
  • Collaborates with external community partners to pursue grant opportunities of mutual interest
