Kentucky Coal Academy

The Kentucky Coal Academy at HCTC is dedicated to partnering with business and industry to train safe, productive new miners as well as to upgrade skills and meet retraining needs of miners who are currently employed. 

Services include but are not limited to the following:

• Mine maintenance training in hydraulics, PLC, welding, and electrical
• Underground Maintenance/Mechanic Certificate Program 
• Surface and Underground Initial Training
• Surface, Underground and Electrical Retraining
• Mine Emergency Technician
• Mine Electrician Licensure Classes
• Foreman Training
